I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

Could be. I was looking at a row of those at a show on Sunday. If I'd known Ian was going to post that pic I'd have asked someone to take the head off!😀

Yes to ford.

Model B?  Sure I've seen that radiator on hot rods.

Well, we think it's a 1936 model y.

Ah, those were probably used for hot rods as well.

Yes, now we can see the radiator grille - different shape to the Model As I was looking at the other day.

I believe that basically the same side valve unit continued right through subsequent models like the E93A until the end of the 100E in the 60's? A school friend had a 100E as his first car - 3 speed box, vacuum wipers etc.

My uncle had a Triumph herald, I seem to remember it could do a 'U' turn in our street 😀

Certainy could. And flip over if you had the early type of suspension. Which mine had. come close a few times as I drove mine hard with that 2.0 straight six engine in a car that weighed so little. . Sounded awesome.  Great fun in the wet.

As a mate of mine who had the early Vitesse 6 (1.6) found to his cost!

Talking of old cars, we often mention Matthewsons on here. Yesterday I found myself stood next to a bunch of them who were there to support their entries in the Trackrod Rally Yorkshire.

Nowadays I normally only watch the grand depart and the finish, plus a stroll round the service area which is always interesting. Amazing how our few days at the coast at this time of year always seems to coincide with the rally weekend!😀

As usual, the historic class was very well supported (Mexicos, RS1600/1800s, Mini Cooper S, etc, etc) and the thought struck me that I may well have watched the very same cars 50-odd years ago in the days when I did stand in Dalby, Cropton, Wyekham etc at midnight! Where has the time gone?

I do like my new, unintended, invention!

I need glasses for driving and watching TV etc

A few months ago I broke a leg on my glasses! Went to opticians to see if they could fix them, but sadly not! So had to buy new ones.

Forgot new glasses at work yesterday so had to resort to using old ones. Thought about sellotaping them up but tried them before taping them.

For watching TV these are ideal! They don't fall off and when I take them off to look at my phone etc and put them back on again I don't get stabbed in the eye  by the leg I'm not using to hold them!

Think I might patent one legged glasses for home use! 🤣

Reminds me of the Optigrab handle 🤣

Best line out of that movie....

Wait...other people call these legs!?  I always thought they were arms!

Hmm! 🤔 Come to think of it, I've called them both before but for some reason I chose legs this time 🤷

I call them much worse things when they break or the screw falls out. But yeah, I've just done a quick search and "arms" is the thing that came up.

No, they aren't. The correct name for the part that goes over your ears is temple.

The bit with the lenses in is the rim or rims but some manufacturers call it an eyewire.

(I spent the last Summer between school and career making frames in Braintree. Never thought I would need that knowledge again!)

That's great info. I need to replace what I now know are the temple tips on one of my pairs of specs. Now I know what I'm looking for!😀

The pages new logo looks way better than old normal type of wording it had 😎👌

I'm not keen either - I thought I'd landed on another site!

I think it looks better because it stands out more compared to the last, but l do agree with Eric Bloodaxe when l first saw it l had to check if l was on the proper site first off 😂
