Hi,.

My car had a steering lock and ignition failure after parked for an hour duration. it is automatic. 2010, Diesel car. Now can not start with either start button or key. All attempts failed including disconection of battery. battery was new and changed 3 days ago.  Can some one help with guidance?

Hi Ravindra welcome to the Ford Owners Club.

When you say the car won't start, does the 'starter motor' operate or is the car just dead?

Best course of action will be to read DTC. You need to use a laptop with ForScan and a ELM327 lead. Once you have the fault codes you will be able to move forward.

thanks a lot, Car Is just dead but battery functions working such as locks and lights.  hope to go to garage on Monday and appointment booked. Is shift lock release helpful in this situation?

Follow the instructions in the owners handbook on how to manually release the gear selector and move it to neutral to allow the vehicle to be recovered.

A pure guess would be water in the connector of the BCM. Without the fault codes its like holding a finger in the wind the problem could be anything
