StephenFord
On cutting my grass yesterday, had a minor mishap. The oil cap came loose and mower got covered in oil as it spurted out. Question, can I use the oil in my garage used for topping up car, or do I have to go out and buy special 'lawnmower' oil to top her up? Has to be 2-stroke engine oil, Doesn't cost much though
TomsFocus
Isn't this a 4 stroke mower? Mower oil (SAE30) will be able to take the heat of an aircooled motor running in summer much better than car engine 5w30 will.

Just googled, guess I was too lazy to do in the first place LOL Found: "...Use Briggs & Stratton SAE 30W oil above 40°F (4°C) for all of our engines. ..." I feel a quick visit to the local 'lawnmower' shop on the cards! Oh, just found this online, guess this is the right stuff?

The genuine B&S stuff is only an extra quid, but I'm sure that would be fine too. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/391936789566?

Thanks Tom, was just about to buy that, however... EDIT Just found another listing, not only cheaper, but they don't mind that I live in Northern Ireland LOL 1
