This is a list of my files, mine seemed larger than others. Could anyone tell me whats included please. I'm guessing the DAB file is missing because I updated it manually after the last sync update? Is that the latest DAB update? Is everything else there that should be?

You got the same download as me. Everything there that should be.

App -  5U5T-14G381-ER - 3.4.21020

Gracenotes - 4U5T-14G423-AC - 3.2.20342

Voice - 5U5T-14G391-AN - 3.2.20339

Interrogator - GB5T-14G386-AD  (xml log generator)

Software and hardware version check files - HB5T-14G386-VCB & HB5T-14G386-VEB

And a new file LU5T-14G386-CA.

This new file renames autoinstall.lst to autoinstall.bak after installation. This makes sure the update will only run once. If you wanted to run the update again you'd have change the autoinstall extension from .bak to .lst.

The DAB logo file you installed manually is still the latest version available.

Just found this for mine on the Ford website, my 8GB Map update failed, I ran a manual interrogator with the intention of uploading, but found a new sync version.

Any idea how long it takes to apply the Sync part? (files shown below).

Assuming it works (big IF!!), then I assume I will be offered a new MAP download???

Thank you for confirming 👍 Will update the maps later, guessing its F10? Hope the error doesn't come back which states I had no memory and that it was a rogue glitch in the 8gb update that was showing to download.

The new map update is around 22/23gb so I'm guessing F10. I too couldn't install the 8gb update as it was saying there wasn't enough memory.

F10 uploaded! Hurray! That will be it for a few years!

To be fair, I've only had my car 10 months and we've had F9 plus F10 maps in that period.

Hi Mick,

Your update contains the new app and voice packages. They should take between 20-30 minutes depending on the speed of your USB drive.

Hi Gerard, 

Once you enter your VIN into the Ford Sync update site you’ll be offered the latest version for your car. It should be just the two updates (Sync & Maps) to get you to the latest versions.

Thats strange regarding the missing voice recognition file, can you think of any reason for it not to be included in my update package ? 🤔

The only reason I can think of is that you already have the latest voice file. 
Did you previously update to 3.4.20351? That version has the same voice file as 21020.

Hi Col, done all this and loaded the extracted files to 3 different usb sticks, the sync unit doesn't seem to be reading them though ( I've formatted them, and used 3 different sticks), I've also tried downloading them via WiFi as it's sync 3 and the system keeps on searching with no results!

 

Any idea on what to try?

Three sticks? Maybe that’s the issue?

That is strange. There should be nothing else plugged into any of your usb sockets except the one flash drive you’re using to update.

If the update doesn’t even start then Sync isn’t seeing the autoinstall file.

When you formatted you usb sticks did you choose exFAT as the file system?

Once formatted and files copied over it should look like this:

 

Inside the SyncMyRide folder should look something like this:

Having already updated both Sync and maps with Cyanlabs, will it be ok for me to ignore these updates until the next update is issued e.g 3.4.21098 and maps F11.

Hi Geoff,

Yes, if you’re already on 21020 & F10 then you can ignore the updates from Ford as they’re exactly the same.

All I did was generate the xml log file and uploaded it to let Ford know I’m up to date.

Looking at your screenshots your download from Ford is for Sync 3.0. The version you have, JR3T-14G381-AX, is 3.0.20204 and is the latest available for Sync 3.0 systems.

What year was your car manufactured? Your bio says 2021 but Sync 3.0 points to 2018 or earlier.

Do you have built in navigation? If so is there an SD card slot under the armrest in the centre console?

If there is an SD card in the slot the update on the usb flash drive won’t run. You’ll have to take the SD card out first.

Built 2017 so definitely Sync 3.0.

I’ve no idea why the update isn’t working for you. The files and layout look fine to me.

I know you’ve tried three different USB sticks but it might be worth trying a different one from one of the big brand names like SanDisk or Kingston if you haven’t before. Although generic USB drives are fine for music some people on other forums have had problems getting an update to run from them.

Even though Ford Sync USB ports are only 2.0 speed the install will complete quicker if you use a USB 3.0 drive.
