Diskpart is easy, just type 'diskpart' on command line, then 'list disk', then select whatever disk number your USB stick is (eg 'select disk 1'), then 'clean', then 'convert mbr' (or, if you want to make it gpt, 'convert gpt')

Just checked, the 'convert' bit in Disk Management only comes up for internal disks, not USB connected ones.

    After suffering with this exact problem for several months after updating Sync 3, I went to the CyanLabs website and use the files from there to re-download the update.

    All my problems are solved!

    Watch the guy's video on the the web site. He has 4 scenarios that he covers, just watch the video that suits your circumstance. (For me it was the 4th one) It was easy & all works exactly how he shows it in the video. I now have latest software version, latest maps and no Bluetooth problems.

    I can add and remove phones, they connect every time and the master reset now works and removes all the phones as it should do.
