Water in fuel error code / sensor

I got a water in fuel error code on my 1.0 ecoboost so i would assume it must have a water sensor somewhere in the fuel system but i can't find any reference to the sensor for petrol engines, only diesels.

Is there a water in fuel sensor? Could it be identifying water by some other method?
