Ian Lanc
Been chatting with an old mate of mine about his Jaguar which he sold not so long ago, I showed him a similar car for sale and he hates it that he sold his 'love' so I decided to go on the Gov website to see if there's owt about his car, strangely it has come back with something I've never seen before! Obviously not bothered about contacting DVLA but it's odd his car is not being shown on the website. Vehicle details could not be found You searched for GK14TPO If you are sure you entered the correct registration number and you need to make further enquiries please contact DVLA. His Reg was GK14TPO but it's not showing, even leaving a gap as GK14 TPO and still nothing. https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/VehicleNotFound?locale=en
unofix
New owner has put a private registration on the car. The original registration is now held by DVLA in a suspense account and will get reissued back to the car when the private registration gets removed at some point in the future.

Possibly, but that comes up for other reasons, probably scrappage, accident write off, etc. I did a search through all my early cars sometime ago out of curiosity to see if any were still around and found that message came up for most of them. I doubt if my old '62 Mini, or '66 Cortina, for example are anything other than baked bean tins now!😀 Interestingly I found my '71 MG Midget was still showing, though untaxed.

So here's the challenge find SF17 XMU 👍

I suspect there are quite a few cases where it's not correct. I doubt my old MG is actually still in existence - if so it's not been taxed/mot'd for over 15 years.
