Blower Resistor Change

Hi there.

My daughter has a 2010 ford ka mk2,the blower only works on number 4.

I took it to my local ford dealer who ordered a resistor pack for it,he now tells me that it will take two days to replace this resistor pack because they have to take the dashboard out to do it.

Does anyone know if this is right, two days seems a long time for changing a resistor pack.

Its a good job the car is under warranty and i'm glad i'm not having to pay labour charges for this.

thanks for any replies

Thanks for the reply fishpond 47.

i've now been informed by my local dealer evans halshaw that this job is going to take three days.

i had a blazing row with them in there service dept because i asked them if the three days included the day that the car stood on there forecourt not being repaired whilst there mechanics did there bread and butter work ie mot's tyres exhausts brakes etc.

when and if we ever get the car back i'm sure i won't be taking it to evans halshaw agian the useless t**ts.

I wish i could find out if you can change this resistor without removing the dashboard.

I tried phoning ford to ask them but they wanted a pound a minute for the call to tell me.

so ford can get stuffed as well.

when my daughter changes her car in 2012 and i change mine in 2013 it certainly won't be a ford nor a vauxhall.
