martyntdci
I know the dpf filter is part of most diesels today and there are 2 different kinds. I'd like to know if ours has 1 fitted its a 1.8tdci 2008 facelift, it has no bottle attached by the subframe underneath the driverside rear....... ive read the 1.6's and the 2.0l's have them but unsure about the 1.8..... wondering because if i have its getting removed and re-mapped..... also where would the egr valve be? ive tried looking at online manuals info etc.... but nothing to pinpoint...... what are the benifits of blanking, or should i clean and replace..... Many thanks in advance mart
Stoney871
I'm pretty sure you don't have a DPF, I have the pre facelift version and definitely don't. The EGR is at the back of the engine and is a silver cylinder with loads of pipes in and out of it. You may need to remove the windscreen cowl and the bulkhead extension panel to get to it properly. You can blank the EGR but it tends to cause engine fault lights (MOT fail) and ragged running. Best off cleaning it and leaving it fitted. Stoney871
Thanks, it's just bits and pieces. Funny thing is that the car still looks pretty stock from the outside. I like it personalised but not too obvious.
