Blueclarkey
I have had my focus zetec s for 1 month now and want to do some cheap mods to make it stand out. I also want an easy cheap way of getting more power from it. Can someone tell me is mine a mark 2.5 or 2.

Stoney871
Your car is what is popularly known as a Mk2.5 or Mk2 facelift (of course this is an unofficial scheme as Ford only go by build year.) I've only got a Mk2 but if you look to my signature picture maybe you'll find some inspiration. I'd recommend an ST spoiler as it will work really well with your paint colour. LED Bulbs and little touches make the difference. A common and easy one is to swap your rear fog light for the European (left hand drive) reverse lens which evens up the back with two clear lenses, just be sure to fit a red bulb to keep it correct. Stoney871
Here you go, it's a straight swap and a true 2 minute mod. http://pages.ebay.co...id=160766730507 Have a look in the inner corners of your footwells (near the centre console) and you'll see little holes, if you have sockets and wiring to them you just need to stick in a couple of good led T10 (also known as w5w or wedge bulbs) and away you go. If you don't have any sockets there you can fit them fairly easily, a few of us here have fitted our own and can happily talk you through the process. Depending on the colour you want these will do the job nicely. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-T10-W5W-194-Car-White-20-SMD-LED-Side-Light-Bulb-12V-/120951362769?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c294354d1 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-X-5-SMD-LED-501-T10-W5W-PUSH-WEDGE-360-HID-BLUE-SIDE-LIGHT-BULB-/220972197845?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3372f827d5 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2X-Red-T10-194-168-W5W-501-5-SMD-LED-Car-Wedge-Sidelight-Side-Light-Lamp-Bulb-UK-/300677758321?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4601ca7d71

Brigante
Sockets look like this mate: If you can't see the wiring, simple way to check is take a bulb out your courtesy light n stick it in the sockets. Remember if it don't light up the first time, take it out n turn it round then put it back in cause theres a positive n negative side to it. If it lights up your laughing, just buy some decent LED Bulbs n whack em in. If it don't light up, like Clive said it's easy to install n he can advise well on it as he's done it himself. (just make sure you don't wire em in series ;)) Notice in my socket photos theres a random wire in the foot-well. If you already have front foot-well lighting, a pee easy, cheap, n well worth mod is installing rear foot-well lighting. A guide to it can be found here written by Lenny http://www.fordowner...__fromsearch__1
Brigante
Also, like Clive said, with the clear fog unit, you'll need to fit a red fog bulb to keep it legal. However, the standard red fog bulbs are crap lol n appear to shine pink instead of red. What a lot of us have fitted are red cree bulbs. They look the business and can be found here: http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1439.l2649 Heres mine: And another well worth mod but a bit more pricey at around 70quid (including the clear unit you've just purchased) would be installing a second reverse light. Lenny has already written a great guide that can be found here: http://www.fordowner...25/#entry158997 Here are my personal results: As you can see it looks !Removed! good lol To get that bright white look you want some of these cree reverse bulbs: http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1439.l2649 Another mod to tie in nicely with your foot well lighting would be fitting an ignition barrel LED My interior lighting currently looks like this with all my LEDs Another cheap n easy mod would be a second boot light. Once again Lenny has written a great guide here: http://www.fordowner...083#entry146083 I have an LED pad for each of mine which gives this effect: Why your at it, may as well stick an LED pad in your glove box too: A good mod for the mk2.5 would be fitting the ST upper grill, many fellow members that own 2.5s have done this: http://www.ebay.co.u...=item416b1f028f If you was to do this though, make sure you read my guide about the common focus bonnet lock problem so you don't get locked out of your bonnet. Also as Clive mentioned, fitting an ST spoiler would be a great mod n one that I've done personally. Concerning more power, is your focus a diesel or a petrol? if it's a diesel, a remap is highly recommended. Other great little cheap but effective mods many of us have done would be custom heating controls, a bit of carbon wrapping n some aluminium pedals. If any of the mods in my signature are of any inspiration, have a mooch through my thread that can be found here: http://www.fordowner...nor +mods +date It records the progress of my focus from stock to how it is now. Noticed you never put a return address either ;) Oh and Blueclarkey, another good mod to give some personality is some DMB gel overlays. As you can probably tell theres that many mods you can do lol. It's worth writing a mods to to list n get checking em off as you go along. Also start your own mods thread to keep track of the progress. Stoney871
Try a Green Cotton filter, it will help the engine breathe better and give it a bit more rev. http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/36783-green-cotton-performance-induction-filter-fitting-guide/page__hl__%2Bgreen+%2Bcotton I got mine delivered yesterday and fully intended to fit it yesterday but unfortunately wife stopped play. I' intending to sneak off tomorrow and get it done if work doesn't miss me for a half hour. Some how I knew that was coming lol.. Noticed you never put a return address either ;) You think i'm daft? :P You'd be down here nicking borrowing my spare uniform and rewiring my footwells while i'm not looking just to shine me off. :)
Brigante
Cheers for all the info..............mines a 1.8 petrol model In that case a remap wouldn't be worth it as it would be a few hundred quid for very little extra BHP Diesels take very well to remaps n would be really worth it What you may wanna do is fit a green cotton performance induction filter. Have any of the many mods I've just listed took your fancy at all?

Stoney871
Git! ;) :) Lol what you end up doing instead of the filter? Curtain shopping? Strangely enough, yes. Dunelm Mill got a good caning, she goes wild in there. personally i think everything they sell there is tat, but no accounting for taste. Annoying thing is that i always end up fitting the soddin' things as she "can't quite reach" - lazy so and so :(
Brigante
Lmao wonder how I knew that.. Lol women can never seem to reach anything.
Stoney871
If you do too much for them its all "i can manage, i'm not a weakling you know" But if you don't help then the small weak voice comes out and when you ignore that then the voice gets much louder. My missuses Belfast accent can get very strong and loud when ignored. :o
Brigante
Never get on the wrong side of an Irish woman mate. Several years of marriage n you'll definitely know that by now ;) But then I guess that goes for every woman.
