metalben
Hi guys I'm completely new on here I've got a 2011 fiesta metal had it for around 6 months and so far so good !, I'm looking to do a few mods to it and one of these is to retro fit cruise control I understand that it has to be coded on and you need the switch pack on the wheel but I can't find any solid information anywhere on what you need to fit ? Any help would be massively appreciated as my friend is looking to do the same also thanks guys, Ben
GJC
Ask iNath, he did mine a few years ago and its been perfect. You need the wheel with the wiring, and a change to the Ford software, however look on the guides there's a guide to checking if you car will have the wiring in place that it needs by opening up the steering wheel cover and checking connections are there
MattJakeT
Has anyone done this successfully on a 1.25 zetec? Sent from my iPad using Ford OC
GJC
Nathan used to have a guide to check the wiring on the FiestaWiki pages but it looks like its gone. I've uploaded it to Drop box. https://www.dropbox.com/s/rcbdp4xf6zelghk/MK7%20Cruise%20Control%20Retrofit%20Compatibility%20Check.pdf?dl=0 I'm not trying to steal Nathans works, just make it accessible.. Look at the PDF, if you have the wiring in place then there's a good chance that you'll have the rest of the wiring and parts inplace. If the wiring in the steering colum is missing then its possible but will need a lot more.
iNath
Afraid due to my full time job taking up all of my available time I've had to stop offering this service :(
metalben
Thanks for all your responses guys no worries Nath I appreciate that completely. I've had a look at the wiring and the plug is full of wires with the 2 wires required at the end on the left so that's a great start am I right in thinking that it has to be a pre facelift switch pack that has to be fitted ? With the m in the centre of the left switch pack or is it possible to fit the facelift steering wheel with the blue backlight buttons ? The newer wheels have a much nicer feel to them I think thanks again, Ben
iNath
The steering wheel itself isn't changed (unless you do it) only the 'V' plastic trim & buttons are swapped out.
matthewluhman
Hi nath, been reading up on the cruise control mod. Im inthe motor trade so understand the hardware side but have a few questions regarding the software. I believe its acase of changing a digit in the asbuilt file on my car. Is this correct and if so is it only a ford machine which can do this or is there other diagnostic machines available. Thanks for any help you can offer. winemart2
Sorry about that Clive, 1 over the 8 I think. The times I've used cruise I can count on one hand.
