Things I Don't Like

Featured Replies

In addition to the late blight sweeping across my tomatoes, the loopers preying on the leaves, and the rampant (pub ignoring) slugs: the two local pigeons have taken a fancy to eating particularly, the yellow cherry tomatoes.  When I let Brandy out this morning, both of them were squatted in the Tumbling Tom tub, breakfasting on it's fruit, and then when disturbed by the bouncing Brandy,  they flew over to the Yellow Pear tomato vine and recommenced their feast.

I also don't the nameless individual who thought they'd empty their ashtray on the pavement, at the bottom of my drive,  They could've at least used my, or my neighbour's general general refuse wheelie bins, which were out for emptying this morning, all of 300mm away:sad:.

Returning from Tesco, I don't like the driver of a certain silver Toyota Auris, who seemed to be under the impression that whatever the sign says, you drive at around one third of it and then weave about on the road (in the fashion of a sidewinder), where it would have possible to overtake him.

Unfortunately, he remained in front of me all the way up to the first junction on the 50mph relief road. There was an ever growing queue of vehicle behind me, i counted 15 of us where the road gently curves.:sad:

All the local dawdlers usually use the old road into the village, where they can meander to their hearts content, leaving the relief road to the rest of us:mellow:

This style of driving is normally found in small pale Nissan drivers, it's a first to find a Toyota being driven like that:ohmy:

When people pick on stuff with no main reason.

Were all human and make mistakes so why highlight it to all.

I wrote a reply on social media and 1 out of loads of other replies said i made 2 spelling mistakes,he replied and read it

so as long as you can read it whats the problem as im far from a brain box and spelling and punctuality is far from my best points.

Im 99% in a mad rush so when a ''i'' should be a ''I'' yes one of the mistakes so please get a life.

Being awoken at 2am this morning, yes 2AM! By my husbands snoring I've been out, done a bit of shopping at the one remaining 24hr tesco around here, had a WW McDonald's , bought some early plugs into an attempt to go back to sleep and no joy...

Still I've got work tonight so need to sleep today anyhow.

I wonder what courtesy car I get this time...

I don't like having to call in sick to work again, which unless I can get a doctors note will definitely result in a formal warning and possibly lead towards dismissal.  Yes they cannot dismiss me purely for one absence warning, but if my card is "marked" then they will find other things to give me additional warnings for, thereby reaching the required three warnings and then I'm sacked!

Having forced myself in yesterday (and fuflilled a 9.5 hour shift whilst feeling like I was going to throw up, pass out, and have a sneezing/coughing fit all at the same time) I am now 10x worse today and couldn't even safely drive the 15 miles there.  Yesterday I did it but felt quite unsafe the whole journey as my reactions were definitely impaired as was my judgement.  The best way to describe it is that it felt like I was driving after consuming half a bottle of whisky!  Certainly not going to risk that today.

So, now waiting for the local surgery to call me back and see if my symptoms warrant an emergency appointment, which I know they don't as I just have a flu/cold with fever and plenty of fluids and rest would sort it out in a few days, but I know that I need an appointment regardless just so I can get an appointment card to prove that I'm actually ill!!

All this stress is only making things worse, but until I can find another job I have no choice but to do everything I can do hang onto my job, and therefore my pay-cheque.

Hmmmm, poor you Jamie....

Get in ya veggies, drink plenty of fluids and cut out smoking ;) Generally, not just cos you're unwell.

Of course, it's up to you and you might have tried lots of things... I just find some friends who smoke are fit as fiddles, others are plagued with every lurgy under the sun....

99% of our meals are home-cooked and include a lot of vegetables, I generally do drink a lot (no, not just alcohol!) and very seldom smoke now, less than one a day even.  I think my problem is a vitamin decifiency to be honest, and will bring that up with the doctor today.

Hahaha, "no, not just alcohol!" love it!

I guess also, your environment and stress levels probably are another thing that's playing havoc with you... by environment I mean work as you clearly don't enjoy it there! I guess this probably leads to a bit of general low moods. I hope you can find something you enjoy soon buddy.

Best of luck at the quacks!

You are absolutely right, it's just getting something else that is the problem.  But, all in good time...

I don't like the way my Nan's dog has been trimmed this time...  As he walks away you get an eyeful of swinging balls and balloon knot that were previously hidden...

Nothing worse than the south end of a mutt seen heading north 😕

Was it an Olympic themed trim?

There nothing to see on Brandy, when she heads north

Possibly a trim themed on an Olympic swimmer...

It'll might make him more popular with the older female dogs, whose eyesight isn't what it was:laugh:

Nothing worse than seeing a dog's tea towel holder in front of you (and this is coming from someone who's job is following the back end of a dog for 12 hours at a time).

Yeah, I'm not too fond of that!  Hence why I'm a cat person - nothing to see!!

Unless they stand in front of you and do the vertical tail/winking brown eye trick.

Yuk.

I don't like that Molly keeps confusing Brandy's tail, for this

20160922_114803_HDR.jpg

her favourite cat toy.

Brandy isn't too happy either at having Molly pounce and then grab her tail, mouthing and pawing it.  Brandy objects and then Molly swipes her nose with a claws extended:sad:

This is a new development, she used concentrate just on her feathery cat toy:mellow:

A pizza is not something I think of going at getting in the middle of the day.

We can get very busy during the day. One time I came back from a delivery to find another six on the screen! I tend not to have much luck when it comes to the day shift though, we either get slammed or it's really quiet.

Ohh...I dunno...

My other half has a cat...and the amount times we all end up with his hairy balls in our faces is unbelievable!! (He hates other cats - he was brought up by a rabbit and there aren't any kittens in the area, never mind any that look like him lol)

Not only that, sometimes when you stroke him, he err...pops out the lipstick...

Whilst it's natural cat behaviour, Molly is taking far too much interest in the dunnocks flitting in and out my elderberry bush. Fortunately for the dunnocks, there is a glazing unit between Molly and them, and she's too much of sun worshipper to leave the warm windowsill to pursue them outside.

But at least you don't wake up to what only can be described as "his lipstick on your collar"

My brother and SIL have a pair of male pugs, who nestle between them in the duvet dip on the bed.  The pugs invariably have their rear end on the pillows but every now and again, one or other of them, has what in pug terms, must be quite an arousing dream.  My brother said nothing quite prepares you for waking up, bleary eyed and finding pug privates complete with extended lipstick resting between your head and shoulder:ohmy::yucky:
