As anyone had this software update. My 1.8 tdci is running quite bad, its got misfire below 2k revs and it sounds like a transit van sometimes. Been to ford and they say its not egr or fuel filter and suggested pcm update which could be up to £100 to do and same if doesnt which is stupid. Also would having a remap solve this problem

Hi, there is a post here about a certian batch of injectors on the facelift tdci http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/62816-ford-injector-issues-18-tdci-ford-wont-tell-you-about-them-must-read/

as for the PCM update, i did mine myself using ELMConfig and a £15 cable: http://www.spanglefish.com/TunnelratElectronics/

ELMConfig and the PCM files are here: http://civil.iffc.ru/ELMConfig/

Guide thread:

i also have a slight missfire when around 1.5-2k revs, i will be getting a remap in august so i will let you know if that helps.

an EGR blanking plate should be installed on this car at any cost. it will help the engine lower down and make it abit smoother

when was the fuel filter last changed? it should be changed regularly

No idea, but if you are looking in to PCM updates and remaps etc, make sure you get the PCM updated before the map, you will lose the map if you update the PCM and its unlikely they will remap it again for free.
