blue crush
Anybody know if there is any such thing as a dual 501 bulb splitter on the market? I want to get two sets of lights off the footwell light holder for an idea im playing with. Not sure if it would cut down the power or create fire risk as just straight power from feed? Dont want to tap into wiring if i can help it as it is a trial and error. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
WES180
I doubt it mate. I would just look at splicing into the existing so you wire your extra 2 lights as a radial circuit. You would have the existing bulb then loop out into the next bulb then loop out of that one into the final bulb. I wouldnt splice 2 extra bulbs straight off the existing bulb. blue crush
Having read that, i think you are right there and i will look into splicing like you said as proberbly the safest and best option. I think the load would be safer considering it is theatre lighting. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
blue crush
Actually, on that note.. Does anyone know if EL led glow wire would work ok with the theatre lighting? Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
GingerFlame
Actually, on that note.. Does anyone know if EL led glow wire would work ok with the theatre lighting? Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC EL wire requires a solid stable voltage to power the transformers. It will not dim much before it cuts out and you'll probably cause damage trying, I burnt out a transformer by constantly adjusting voltage input. unless you spend a small fortune the transformers emit a loud high pitched squeel too It's annoying as it looked amazing when I trialled it in the fiesta
blue crush
Thats a shame as they would be perfect to tuck into tight gaps instead of sticking to something and it falls off again. Glad you told me about the voltage thing as was about to buy. Plan b i think.. Fibre optics? Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

If they're LED then it'll be a lower current draw too
blue crush
Yes they will be LED as after googling, i can just tape up to an led (will use footwell one to try) and it will glow. Just any light source that can bounce along the fibre will generate lighting. Going to give a go and see how it works. BMW i8 interior style ..
