NeuroOrbit
Hi, Anyone experienced problems with the Hill Start Assist? Mine was working fine but now only works intermittently. It's definitely switched on in the settings, there are no error messages, and yet it no longer appears to be working. I'm not sure I particularly liked it in the first place and was going to switch it off, however my concern is that now its misbehaving, what else could be faulty... Car currently has only 800 miles on it, so under warranty.
Randoms
Does it only work over a certain gradient? Any doubts take it back if still under warranty.
NeuroOrbit
it's stopped working on the same hills it used to work on. Funny really, as it caught me out, even though I have never had the feature previously and had no problems, I have already started to rely on it and have got lazy with the handbrake, so wasn't expecting to go backwards. Randoms
I'm the same never had it before and now rely on it more than I thought - same goes for parking sensors. I'd take it back to dealers for warranty work, maybe it's a sensor/software?
GAOV
I had all these behaviors described. The hill start assist was disabled even after two checks by Ford mechanics. Sometimes the "unavailable HSA" message appeared when I brake down in a street. Very strange!!! I made the diagnosis and in my opinion it is a brake imbalance that leads to missing messages on the ABS sensors. I solved the problem after checking the tires pressure. The tires had very different and very high pressures (front: 3.1 bar in both tires; rear: 3.1in left tire and 3.4 bar in rigth tire) I applied 2.9 to all and the problem was solved. If this procedure in your vehicles not resolve, please also check that if the shock absorbers have the same load/charge.
