V6 Lover
I have 225 40 zr18 tyres fitted on my mk3 Mondeo..what I'm thinking of is fitting 225 45 profile instead of 225 40...is this viable or will it cause problems...IMHO I think the 40 profile is a tad too small for British roads.. stef123
Other than more expensive you will knock the speedo out slightly.
V6 Lover
I'm worried about the clearance particularly the rear struts as its a very very close...I'm hoping someone has already got 225 45 18 on their mk3 Mondeo with no issues hopefully... Preecematt
I had 215/40R17 my last car and changed to a 45, the visual difference was negligible same can be said for clearance, major thing was though for me, comfort and pot holes. I had no punctures on the 45's and the comfort was a lot better, so was road noise
