Desbe
Does anyone know if a split turbo hose can cause any damage. The reason I ask is that I am going on a long trip of approx 3000 miles in two days time and have no time to get it fixed.
TomsFocus
3000 miles with no turbo boost will be horrible! If its a diesel it'll produce a lot more soot, and fill up the DPF quickly if you have one. I wouldn't recommend 30 miles with a split boost pipe let alone 3000. If you've really got no way around it at least try and bodge it with gaffa tape or something. Desbe
Thanks lads. It looks like a gaffa tape job for now.
jeebowhite
is it the hose or the pipe? I drove around in my CMAX with a split turbo pipe for over a year, didnt do any real harm. Worst case scenario, your fuel efficiency is reduced and you leave plumes of billowing black smoke whenever you accelerate firmly.
