roxrob
Hi, does anyone know where I can get decent exhaust mounting rubbers for my Mk1 Focus 1.6? I have replaced them about 6 times in 3 years due to them continually perishing and falling to bits. Tried various suppliers, including Ford who wanted to charge £6 each, and said they would need to order them in from the other place I've used which only charged me £2 each. Replaced the whole set 4 months ago and now thaey all need doing again due to perishing. Is it just rubbish rubber these days?
BOF
You seem to be having problems that most people don't have. I 'd guess that there is something different about your situation or car but you don't give much to go on.
artscot79
Rubbers shouldn't keep breaking replace them with the ones you got and use metal cable ties as well
williamweb
Maybe you could try polyurethane exhaust hangers. Sent from my iPad using Ford OC
artscot79
there are heavy duty ones on eBay which I've used once they are thick rubber
simcor
I must say it us unusual to be honest, never had an exhaust hanger break on any car I have ever owned. It can't be the hangers just breaking surely something must be causing them to fail but what I have no idea off hand. I know eventually they will perish and break but usually they take a long time to do so. Stumped for ideas.

simcor
Is it a standard exhaust system and is the car lowered at all? Could the exhaust be catching on a speed bump or something and causing the hangers to break?
Tyke
Is the engine twisting due to worn mounting and pulling on the exhaust.
