Tyre noise

Why does my ford fiesta 07 plate 60000 miles make road noise

Posting this in the right section, and giving some more information might help!!

The general chat area is clearly marked "Talk about anything NOT Ford related"

Also, more specifics might help. 'Road noise' is fairly vague, seeing as every vehicle will make noise when driving...

How worn are your tyres, I've found that as you get 'near the limit' of wear the road noise tends to increase. Second what Benjamin said.

Physics.

I've never had a car yet that didn't make road noise.   It can be alleviated to some extent by your choice of tyres.

Tyre choice tyre wear, road surface type, its all to do with friction at the end of the day. Each tyre generates an amount of friction, more friction means more volume as noise is waste product along with heat.

This was the big thing with me when i had my fiesta was road noise, focus is a lot better but fiesta being smaller and not a lot of padding don't help.

The tyres i have tried 3 lots and a bit better but still there, you just get use of it well i have,my old 09 corsa was very quiet but i would rather have my

car with no tyres than that car.

Have you not gone into setting> Road noise > Tyre noise> Cancel

That should sort it

I wish that option was on the Focus dash!!

The real answer is because Ford are too tight to fit enough sound deadening.  It's so noticeable between even the cheap German stuff and Fords.
