Ryanj
Apparently the stalwart of the mobile world is being re-released http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/2017/02/14/nokia-bring-back-historic-3310/ Marketed as a 'back-up' phone, but I don't think it'd be a bad thing having a phone which does the basics. Sat in the barbers the other week, 6 or 7 other lads sat heads down on their phone, good job I wasn't in a chatty mood isn't it. Who will get one? GMX
I still have the original, in my box of old phones. A perhaps surprising use for old Nokias (including the 3310), more than other brands, owing to their shape. Is when you find yourself needing a form to mould a small roll topped bath out of sugar paste or pastillige; to decorate a cake. Once wrapped in cling film, the Nokia is exactly the right size, otherwise you'd have to make a form out a piece of non-resinous wood or a piece of dense foam. The bath below was moulded around the original Nokia 3310
iantt
My mum got hers and still uses it. No idea how old but only recently had to have a new battery.
Ryan_Tango
I used to keep one in the glove box of my car as it had an insane standby battery life, kept as emergency backup.

jmurray01
I loved my old 3310! In fact, I'm sure I still have it somewhere, but haven't seen it in years and if I remember correctly it had problems reading a sim last time I used it, hence its retirement. Stoney871
Up until a year ago my work mobile was a 6210, perfect little phone.Nowadays my radio is also my phone so one less thing to carry on duty now.Sent from my SM-G930F
GaryPL
I had one of these. My mum had the 3330 which was the same device but with the old WAP mobile internet. I loved how you could change the covers and buttons. Was always down the market buying new ones! But as I went to school in a posh place, I always resented it slightly and wanted the 8210 because everyone had one of those!
Jonro2009
Was the 8210 the really small one with daft tiny buttons? If it was then I had that one and it was pretty cool back in the day. I also had one of those ones out of the matrix, worst phone ever!Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

GaryPL
Its buttons were a similar size to the 33XX series. It was however a lot more expensive! Was The Matrix phone from the "Communicator" series?
Jonro2009
That's the one I had, I really liked it but did find it a little too small. Not sure what series is was from. It was the sliding phone. The 7110 I think I was, the one with the button at the back that let the spring go to open the slider, it was also the first phone to have predictive textSent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I got muddled because the 8110 did not have a spring loaded sliding cover, it was manually operated by sliding it, funnily enough lol. It seems they adapted the 8110 to be spring loaded.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
jmurray01
Whilst clearing out my cupboards and drawers filled with years worth of crap today I came across my old Nokia, to discover it is actually the 3310's successor, the 3410. As for whether it still works, I've no idea! I haven't got the charger and am not prepared to buy one just to find out, but I'll keep a hold of the phone in case I ever decide to put it back into use again...
