Anyone got any ideas or tips on what else I could do to make this car smart and what engine mods I could do as my car is 1. 4 16v and is 80bhp

Is this petrol? If it is then you can't really get much power gains out of it. Smartening up wise you could get the mirror covers, door strips and handles colour coded (if yours is that plastic colour). Could add LED sidelights to the front to a white light and replace the horrible yellow factor bulbs.

Those engines can go North of 160bhp without increasing capacity, but its hideously expensive.  Balanced machkned pistoms, lattice con rods, TBs, knife edged and lightened bottom end, all the trimmings.  A lot easier and vastly cheaper to just buy a more powerful car.

On the plus side, they've solid lifters and rev sweetly so what little power they do have is a pleasure to use.
