4d4m
I've almost decided on the Zetec S Estate, with privacy glass and the city pack, but having 2 young kids I'm thinking about family pack as well, however it's confusing. "Family Pack - Remote/powered child proof rear door locks, power 1 shot up/down front & rear windows, Rear Seat (2nd row) Belt Minder Note: Power 1 shot up/down front and rear windows already standard on Titanium/Titanium X City Pack - Rear Park Assist, powerfold mirrors. Includes power 1 shot up/down front & rear windows on Zetec S" The windows come with the city pack and I could do without the belt minder, but, what I can't find out is, what actually are the remote/powered child proof door locks and what does that mean if that option is not specified? My guess would be the option allows remote locking and unlocking of rear doors from driver's seat but I can't find confirmation. Dealers don't seem to have any idea. Last one I spoke to said family pack was only something offered on the C-Max! I had to show him the brochure. However does that mean without this option are the locks not powered? Does it even have child locks?
Stoney871
If it doesn't have powered locks it will still have the ability to set the manual handle locks on the rear door lock face.
Preee
I have the Titanium X . I have the rear powered windows lockable and controlable from the drivers door . I would imagine if the rear locks are controlled somehow then it will be linked to the seatbeat minder somehow there are no extra switches and nothing appears on the speedo cluster. As far as i am aware i do not have the family pack , well i have every other thing linked to the family pack but not door locking. I can bring the window down and themlock its position perhaps thats what your talking about.
4d4m
I don't think it's referring to the windows, it refers to remote powered child proof door locks. The windows are mentioned separately in the "power 1-shot" bit, which sounds like the thing you have. I'm really trying to understand what the first bit means. I would have thought every car on the market for the last ten years should have "powered door locks", i.e. central locking front and rear. Looks like another dealer trip is in order! With normal child proof locks you can't open the rear door from inside, so you have to get out and open the door for the rear passengers to get out. I would expect this feature to be available on every car as it's a safety thing. I think on my Leon, pushing the door button to open all the windows enables rear passengers to open the doors, but they can't override the "global" lock themselves as the front passenger can. I think it may be this functionality.
Preee
The rear doors have the manual child lock switch ,so you can't open from inside. The rear windows are fully controllable from the drivers door and lockable in any position , center door lock switch locks all doors. I have seen on a Citreon C4 the ability to Lock only the rear doors if required , i have not seen this option on the Focus ,i think the wording is not correct on the Ford site or at least misleading. 4d4m
Thanks. Certainly is misleading!
Preee
Thanks. Certainly is misleading! If your getting the Family pack on the car , at least we will be able to solve the issue.

Preee
Long time to wait , but they only probably build custom builds on certain days , the rest will be for bulk or perhaps they do certain models on different days.
