Steering Noise Help!

Hey guys, i think i have mentioned this previously but its really really annoying me now. i've got a 58 plate fiesta mk6.5, its done just over 15k miles. since 13k miles i noticed a click sound now and again when i turn my steering wheel, the click sounds like if a cable is loose and catching on something when i turn the steering wheel like while parking, going around a corner, doing 3-point-turns, etc. The click sound is coming from inside of the steering wheel. i took the plastic shrouds off to see if any wire, plastics etc were loose or catching, but everything looked fine and normal. Now the click sound is pretty much constant while turning right/left, i think it could either be the airbag cable is like loose and catching when turning the steering wheel or it could be the steering wheel bearing? i have sprayed gt85 lubricant grease on the steering wheel bearing, for a week it didnt click, but now its come back. please help! thanks.

sounds like your airbag contact ring goosed

that was my thinking although i think its actually called the airbag clock spring assembly? had to replace the one on my focus because the self cancel bit for the indicators had snapped off.

Yes you are right in stating its called the clock spring but wasnt sure how tech minded people are and if you go to ford its actually called a 'contact' ring on the box and microcat.

Cheers
