Fuel Pump Or Ecu Problem

I have just purchased a KA lux 2001 that has been resting for approx 8 months. The engine started to tick over at first when jump started then stalled. This happened a few times. I filled with petrol and nothing.Engine turns over but doesn't ignite. It is not the fuel cut off switch. There is also no whirring sound from the fuel pump when the ignition is turned on. The filter is clean.Could this be the ECU , immobillizer or the fuel pump? Any suggestions?

Many thanks

The first port-of-call would be fuel pump. I doubt it has an immobiliser if it's a Ka... Maybe there is a reason why it was resting ?
