jmurray01
The belt is slipping (making a chirping noise that gets closer together and faster the higher the engine RPM's), and it needs changing, so, is it hard ? I know the answer I'd give to a thread like this: Read a Haynes manual! But I don't have one just now :(

jmurray01
Being a pre-2000 car I would assume it would be a manual tensioner ? If so, is it easy to tighten the belt after fitting the new one ? Or will it be hard to adjust because of the tension of the belt itself ? jmurray01
UPDATE: The chirp/squeak has gone! It was damp when it made the noise, and after sitting in the dry garage for 6 days the squeak has gone! :)
