flameowner
Hi, I have a spring snapped on my 04 Fiesta 1.4 petrol. Local garage want £360 to change the pair, money which I do not have to give them. How hard a job is it to do yourself and can anyone run through the basics of what I will have to do in order to change the springs. I consider myself a competent mechanic but haven't changed springs for years and wondered what I was letting myself in for. Tried searching for a similar thread to no avail so if anyone could point me to one it would be much appreciated.
percy1
hi disconect any wiring from the strutt, undo the strut mounts at the top and bottom, take it out, use spring compressor the compress the spring and undo the retaing nut on the top, remove any rubbers or bearings on top noting their orientation and slide of the spring, refitting is reverse.
