fnkymnky
Hi all, Looking for a replacement interior light surround (pictured below) for my Mk7: The little catches on one edge on mine have snapped off when replacing the interior bulb and the plastic cover won't clip back on. So yeah.. need a replacement. Is my best bet a scrappy? I've tried eBay already and couldn't find anything. Any help would be much appreciated. iNath
If it's the the standard one from a Zetec-S (ie withOUT ambient lighting) I have my original one left from when I upgraded to ambient lights. EDIT: The top one
AJ_sXe
I have a spare one WITH ambient lighting an map lights if you would interested in an upgrade! On a side note, Nath, where could I mount the B/T mic other than in the roof panel? (I don want to cut the liner for the larger panel )

Might have to poke out the top of the pillar that runs up the windscreen?

Stoney871
You could run it out from beside your courtesy light. I have my parrot mic there and it picks up perfectly.

It's the Ford "round shape" mic that comes with the roof panel, unless I could bodge in a regular mic to the cabling?
fnkymnky
Thanks for the replies guys. I completely forgot about this post and ended up buying a replacement light from FordPartsUK, haha. Cost me around £20, which is not too bad I don't think. Interesting seeing these ambient light upgrades though! Might invest in an upgrade after Christmas. ;)

dunny78
I wouldn't mind doing this upgrade, anybody know how much it would be from ford or roughly from a breakers. I haven't seen any on auction sites lately.
Stoney871
They're not cheap and rare as hens teeth for some reason. I have a link somewhere, will chuck it on when I'm at my computer.
Stoney871
Here you go- http://www.european-parts.net/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/966 As i said, not cheap but it's a really nifty upgrade. To connect it properly you'll need about 1 metre of 5 amp cable, a t-tap or scotchlock and a small crimp bayonet connector (the size usually used for car Speakers, about 4mm). Just run the cable from the bayonet connector on the ambient light circuit to a wire on the headlight control unit (number plate light switching pin 16 on a Focus 2/2.5).
