Is This The Right Fuse Board??

Hi, Sorry if i've posted in the wrong place.

I got my focus in Feb, now the weather is hot i noticed the air con isn't working.

After digging around for my fuse boxes, and refferring to the hand book with the car, I have noticed that the layout is different.

Does anyone know if this is the correct fuse box for an '07 focus zetec climate?

My air con clutch doesn't kick in, i've swapped relays under the bonnet and checked the fuses.

After trying to figure out the glove box board i'm stumped. I've found stuff on this site showing the same as my manual, but not what I have in my car.

I'm hoping there is either a fuse missing or in the wrong place, or I think i'll just have to deal with the heat! lol.

As a side note, all i get from the blower is warm air, the a/c light turns on but no clutch noise.

I tried to re-gas the system but it looks like it's full.... I regassed a Meriva I had before this car which worked..... now i'm fearing the worst!!

Thanks in advance.

Nick

That is the right fuse panel for your car.

Some of the very last of the MK2's were fitted with the new ones put into the facelift (MK2.5) models.

There's a link to the fuse panel layout in my signature links, but here's the link anyway.

You may well find though that just because your gas system is full it doesn't mean that the coolant is effective.

TBH unless you get the system drained down, tested for leaks and re-gassed with the right amount of PAG oil added to manufacturers specs you may not get any results.

Kwik-fit do a re-gas and test for £49, with a guarantee that if they don't get the system I believe 10% cooler you don't pay.

I personally prefer taking mine to an independent garage I use for MOT's and any work as I trust them to do a good job and not stitch me up with unneccesary work.

Had mine done on Thursday for £60 and it's spot on now.

Hi, thanks for a quick reply.

I've just had a look over the board with the link you sent and everything seems to be in the right place.

Didn't realise some older parts were being used on the face lift model, a tad annoying when the book is supposed to be for my car! lol

A friend of my Dad's, who apparently has experience in Ford cooling systems said "This is a common thing, the pipes will be all corroded and the system will need to be replaced. I reckon about £1k for a simple job, going up for a full refit, and that's what it will need."

So as you can guess I decided I had to look at all other possible small faults I might be able to fix myself, and after seeing the fuse board differ from my manual I'd hoped someone had replaced it and a quick jig about might've solved it.

I'll call the garage I normally use to see if they can take a look..... at £60 it's worth every penny, then see what they would say to fix any faults. Had no idea it could cost that little.

Will re-post on here when I get it sorted, or at least find out how much the repair bill might be??.....

Thanks again

Always check the small things before going expensive :)

Definitely start with the re-gas and see how you go.

if either of the high or lower pressure switches arent working it wont switch on either theres a fair few things to check before going down a full system repair a compressor and dryer new pipes and a flush is £500-700 plus fitting so his prices are a bit steep why dont you try a mobile aircon specialist he will come out connect everything up and go from there

I had an aircon issue when I first bought the car because the previous owners did not run it and thus the seals were knackered etc. Took to dealers who tracked down the offenders and knackered pipe...£170 later im cool as birdseye fish fingers with a polar bear

Everyone gets to summer and then panic that their air doesn't work.

The system also works well in cold weather to warm up the car and demist faster.

It is strongly recommended to run aircon at least once a week regardless of weather to keep the system maintained and lubricated.

I always keep mine on. The difference in fuel is hardly noticeable...plus it keeps the seals and all the parts lubricated.
