esoe88
Hey dude's and dudettes! Seem's I've ended up coming back to Ford after buying myself a Fiesta Zetec S Tdci recently as I do a lot of motorway miles. Progress may well be slow and a tad boring as she's not just my toy, she's my workhorse too but here's my project thread.Anyway here's the girl: Plans:Keeping it pretty oem, simple etc.External:* DMB carbon/chrome gel ford badge overlays (FITTED)* Team Heko wind deflectors (FITTED)* Paint the drums black to hide the poor things * De-tango the headlights * Smooth rear wiper arm* Better headlight bulbs as mine are buggered (FITTED)* Cupra-R front splitter* Colour code mirrors * Colour code door handles * Colour code washer jets * Re-furb wheels in gunmetal grey * Smaller aerial (ORDERED) * Carbon wrap rear diffuser * Carbon wrap fog light surrounds Interior: * Leather gear gaiter (FITTED) * Armster faux leather armrest* Maybe carbon wrap a few little bits (nothing drastic) * Nicer gear knob Performance: * EGR valve blank plate* Re-map* Possible 30-35mm Eibach drop (unsure of this as of yet)It needs a good detail and I'll get some decent shots of her, I apologise about the poor picture quality.Ciao for now!- Greg
esoe88
15th Feb - Full service carried out - Also found the cause of an annoying knock that kept coming from the left side of the car every time I hit a bump in the road... Thought it may have been part of the suspension but after looking and shaking everything, it all looked fine. After much confusion I found the battery was a little loose and a bolt was missing from the bracket - New one in = no knock! :P TODAY: Fitted all these: * Cookie monster tax disc holder * DMB carbon ford badge overlays for front & rear * Team heko wind deflectors * Osram nightbreaker headlight bulbs * Philips ultra blue vision sidelight bulbs Then gave her a quick clean! esoe88
Hey mate - £12.75 with postage - Hopefully I don't get a b*llocking for this as I'm linking to another site but here's the link to where I bought them: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-FIESTA-Mk6-ST-ZS-GEL-Badge-Overlays-FIESTA-MK6-ST-and-ZETEC-S-ONLY-/251252746136?pt=UK_SportingGoods_OtherSports&var=&hash=item3a7fd4a798
kristriple
Cheers man! Tidy little motor you got there. I had a petrol one before my mondeo. Cracking little cars. Loads of fun on the twisty's! Sent from my KFTT using Ford OC mobile app
esoe88
No problem! Yeh they're definitely fun little cars! I wanted something that could be fun to drive aswell have gaining good mpg as I do a lot of miles - Seem's it fit me perfect! A mate of mine has just got himself a '58 plate mondeo 2.0l tdci - very nice and comfy car!
kristriple
They can shock some people to. I beat a range rover between 2 roundabouts once. He pood on me in straight line, obviously, but I managed to get back in front because I braked so much later. My mondeo is a 2.5T titanium x. Great value for money! Not exactly "pretty" tho..... esoe88
Exactly, not all about power! Nice, bet that shifts a bit. To be fair they're not ugly either. Good cars
Loz Cheung
Good choice greg, i had a red version of these and it was good fun! Weirdly preferred it over the petrol model! The body coloured side strips and boot/numberplate strip was a good choice, should have been standard B)
esoe88
Cheers buddy! Few more bits of colour coding to get done, the handles look weathered and awful! All in good time :)
kristriple
Exactly, not all about power! Nice, bet that shifts a bit. To be fair they're not ugly either. Good cars Not quite as quick as a focus ST, but close enough. Especially when you save a couple of grand. I read something in the Manual about active suspension. I'm shocked at how much grip it has! Crap on fuel tho! Somewhere between 24 and 28mpg on my local roads. Only managed 32 doing 100 miles on dual carriageway! esoe88
Quick update: Went for a blood test and didn't pass out! That is an achievement and a half for me haha, felt the need to share this with the world.. although it has NOTHING to do with the fiesta.. :D Anyway, I had ordered a leather gaiter as the standard one is horrid. It came during the week but couldn't find the effort to fit it. Did it this morning and I'm happy with it, definitely a great improvement over standard! Just needs a smaller gear knob I think, as these things are huge. Any recommendations? I think some of the richbrook ford range look quite classy but I'm unsure... Also these came in the post, leather really needs a good go over so will be done over the weekend along with a nice big overall clean:
esoe88
Gave her a good ol' clean today! including a decent long leather clean followed by treatment with leather balm. Smells like fresh leather in the car again woop! I attempted to de-badge the rear but it's left a bit of a mess with the lacquer... so I've ordered some trim tape and they're going straight back on. I like the zetec S badge anyway to be honest and was 'ooing' and 'ahhing' for ages about whether to. Seems the car has made its own choice. Lastly, ordered a shorter anti-theft richbrook aerial today. Seems the modifying game has got me by the knackers again! ... Pic taken just before it fully dried and I buffed it up (hence you can see a few slightly damper bits)

esoe88
Smooth rear wiper or de-wiper? hmmm, opinions? I've always de-wipered and like the look.
AzzST
I'd go with a de-wiper, looks smart on these cars :) Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
esoe88
You've pulled my leg, grommet has now been ordered. Wasn't really a hard decision after all
AzzST
Where did you order one from? If you don't mind me asking Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
esoe88
eBay, 32mm grommet (Pretty sure that's the right size anyway, if not then I'll have to grab a different one.) 99p with postage, You'd probably find them cheaper at a d.i.y store but eBay is less hassle than leaving the house today lol. There are too many people trying to flog them on there though for a few quid more, advertised as the specialised grommet for the 'de-wiper mod' etc.
kristriple
Could you stick a picture up of it once its done? Ive never seen one de-wipered before. Sounds cool tho!
