Hi

I have a slight problem with my 2 ltr diesel c max. 2008 . Having trouble with intermittent sudden loss of power, may only happen once or twice a week. It's had checks at garage & showing no faults been re programmed yesterday but same problem happened again. Can anybody help? Thanks

Hard to say. Although, my dad currently has a C-Max with the Ford/PSA engine. Apparently a common fault is blowing the turbo on them. Not sure yours is the same engine though. This is what was wrong with his one. It was driving, but not boosting. The turbo had already blown when he bought it. I'd check the turbo, just to be safe, and also check the little oil filter on the feed line to the turbo.

is it MK1, or MK2?

the turbo intercooler pipe shouldnt be a problem, but I had this (check my signature for the turbo intercooler pipe) fix myself.

So there are no error codes at all?

None at all. It can run fine for days and then all of a sudden its like I have taken my foot off the pedal very quickly .it doesnt cut out just loses power then I take my foot off then press again and its fine.

Just had the car serviced and changed all filters in case that was the problem , someone told me it could have something to do with the pedal censor but I thought that would show up as a fault. But thanks for the offer on the filter.

No worries well it could be related to the potentiometer or the throttle body. Because of the intermittent nature you need to try pin down what you were doing at the time, for example accelerating hard for an overtake?
