FordKA87
Hiya All, Can anybody help please. My car is constantly blowing hot air through the interior blowers (even when the dial is turned to cool) i have had the thermostat changed and the heater control valve but this hasn't made a difference. Does anybody have any idea what the problem might be?Thanks in advance
jeebowhite
when you say hot, do you mean warm or hot? it could be the motor stuck at the back or the dial has become disconnected from the spindle at the back.
FordKA87
Its hot, so much so that we have to open all of the windows on almost every journey.
jeebowhite
sounds like the switch is disconnected from the mechanism at the back. if you remove the fascia / stereo you could probably see that its disconnected and just locked in the fully open hot position. hairyharry1
I seem to have a similar problem, the car heater blows hot, but not all of the time, the heater responds normally, then without notice the blower goes hot and stays hot. The heater control valve and the coolant were changed 2 weeks ago, the reason they were changed, is that it would only blow cold, . So i was hoping to get some advice and get this fixed, as it is like sauna when it blows hot Thanks Michael
jeebowhite
This would normally indicate a sticky thermostat to be honest.
hairyharry1
Thank you, I will get this done now. Thanks for the fast reply. as i am no mechanic and i knew that this forum would help, i have been reading quite a few posts on here, and it is very interesting, as you find out more on here than any manual or guide. jeebowhite
Most of us oin this forum have learned the hardway, through hours of research and trial and error :) sadly troubleshooting doesnt go very far in the car manuals or Haynes for that matter, so most of us have learned by just working and checking everything methodically until we get to the answer! FordKA87
It's fixed (finally) :) I had to change the actual control panel. It's only cost £10.00 on eBay for a used one but its done the trick. No more Sauna :D Thanks for the advice everyone.
