Autogearbox Fluid Level.

I just bought a Focus mk 2 1.6 auto. From an enthusiastic D. 1.Y.er. I've checked The auto box fluid level many times and each time it comes up as very overfilled. If its badly overfilled how will this affect the auto box - if at all? and how do I drain it if so. The Haynes manual does not say. Many Thanks Mwah mwah. Chris.

What gearbox is it, is it the ZF? if so, I prey for your soul!

I would say that the gearbox will have a filter if not just a drain and refill hole, you should just open this and let some drain to a suitable container?
