Welcome to the forum,

Excellent choice of Motor,

I recommend blanking the EGR valve (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) blanking prevents waste gases entering your induction system, reduces oil contamination, increases MPG and reduces turbo lag,

To purchase see here:

For more information and independent reviews see here: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/42915-guide-fitting-egr-blanking-plate-16tdci-engine/page-2

And for maximum MPG after blanking your EGR upgrade your induction filter to a Green Cotton Performance induction filter, same filtration, greater air flow, straight swap fits existing air box and lasts three times longer than factory filter.

See here for 10% Discount code and user reviews: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/36783-green-cotton-performance-induction-filter-fitting-guide/

Engine saw in Guides is a 1.6TDCi

Links provided are tailored to your 2.0TDCi engine,

The overall outcome will be the same increases as discussed in the guides regarding the 1.6TDCi aswell as further enhanced engine reliability.

Thanks Lenny..Appreciate the advice. Not sure yet how efficient the Ford garages here in Prague are yet or if they will even understand the recommendations you make. Not everything is translated the same!

Will be a fun learning experience for sure :)

no problem,

You can perform these upgrades yourself or using an independent garage would be cheaper than getting ford to do it,

They will understand blanking the EGR though.
