The sensor is facing the window screen behind the mirror, if you look from front of car and look towards the interior mirror you will see the sensor. supercmaxer
It's attached to the window from the back of the mirror. If you look at the top centre of the window screen from the front of car you will see the sensor.

supercmaxer
auto lights how does this function work ???? paul Usually the light switch has auto on it, switch it to that to enable auto lights, the sensor on window screen picks up on the dim light. It also acts as a auto wash wipe. Only some cmax's have them fitted depending on model.
jeebowhite
Yes, both lights and rain are met by the same sensor.

Ramas
That is the sun load sensor for your climate control, totally different sensor. Interesting What that sensor do?
Stoney871
It reads how much sun is hitting the windscreen and adjusts the climate control to compensate for the extra direct heat into the car.
jeebowhite
yeah the sensor you need is behind the rear view mirror at the top centre of the screen.

jeebowhite
That is the light sensor I believe it detects q change in light or rain on the windscreen and triggers lights or wipers as necessary
Stoney871
I think it's for a auto dimming rear view mirror.
Ramas
I think it's for a auto dimming rear view mirror. Auto dimming sensor is front of mirror. This sensor (in picture) "look" into front of round.
