Ka Collection Yr 2000 Dad Needs Help!!

Hi All,

Just bought my daughter her first car- a KA Collection year 2000. Theres a couple of things i need to find out as i didn't get a user manual with the car.

The car has electric windows so apparently it should have central locking?

If it has central locking its not working as you need to manually lock / open each door.

When you press the internal door handle to lock the car there is no motor noise (ie. central locking motor) and when you use the key to open the drivers door only the drivers door unlocks.

Also the boot release button seems to do absolutely nothing? no noise - no opening / unlocking of the boot?

Is there a common fuse / relay / known issue that could cause any of the above?

Also as we have only the one key at present (a plain key with a red bar on the bottom?) - should the other missing key be a remote locking key?

Any help really appreciated

ray

I presume you don't have the owners hand book?

If not - might be worth looking on the Ford website, you can download many of them

Had a look on there but it doesn't list the KA for around year 2000 unfortunately.

  • 5 weeks later...

i think they did have central locking but not remote central locking

easiest way to find out it to remove the door card to see if there is a motor in there.

even if you had a manual for the car it will not really tell you as they cover a lot of models with diffrent spec
