MarkR
Getting my 2010 focus diesel it's 100k mile service. Getting the full service (not sure what was done in previous service - was done by an indy prior to me buying it). Mechanic had recommended dropping the sump, cleaning that and the pick up pipe. Is sludge an issue on these models? Service history is good, was a lease / fleet car I think, and had all it's services done on time. Car is running fine, no issues. alexp999
100K is normally the time for the cam/timing belt on Fords...

MarkR
It is a 1.6L Duratorq TDCi (110PS) - DV6
bigmunkynutz
You really should be issued with an "Acheivement" badge at 100K
alexp999
DV6 is 100% belt driven. So it will need to be changed. You might be able to generate a service report on Ford Etis, to see what else needs doing.
vibeone
I'm gonna follow this thread with interest... I'm at 104k on a 2.0 tdci '09... I've done the oil changes myself on schedule, but nothing else has been done unless it's broken. Interested to know about sump cleaning like OP. alexp999
2.0 tdci is belt driven too, you should get it changed. It could write the engine off if it goes...

Yeah I'm aware - it's 125k officially, but that sounds like a long long way to me. It's in for a few things today, so if I can afford it, i'll get it done now. alexp999
I thought they were all 100K or 10 years, I personally wouldn't wait longer than that, knowing the damage it can do, lol. It's normally suggested to do the water pump at the same time due to labour cost, but if you are doing it yourself, you might not be bothered. It's got a slight coolant leak anyway, so will get that done. I've heard it's around £200 all in, but I don't know who that's with. My car is at a ford warranty place at the mo, they're getting back to me with a price.
alexp999
I'd expect it to be 2-3 times that for a cambelt change...
vibeone
I'd expect it to be 2-3 times that for a cambelt change... I would have agreed. It's only anecdotal evidence via a quick google search though!
MarkR
I was checking the service schedule, and it's 125000 miles, or 120 months. Whichever comes first.
