The 25,000 Mile / 2Nd Service

Just after some opinions really.

The Fiesta is due for it's "25k miles / 2nd year" service next week. It's only currently got 8700 miles on the clock -_- I've gathered some quotes from Ford, and they roughly want £188 to carry out the service. After a scout around on Google, I came across http://www.servicingstop.co.uk. They claim that your warranty is not affected, if I was to have a service with them. I quote:

My car still has its warranty, will this be affected?

Your warranty is protected at all times with Servicing Stop. Genuine parts are used of OE (Original Equipment) standard. This ensures that your warranty is protected at all times. The Block Exemption legislation allows independent garages to carry out car services without affecting a car's warranty.

Plus their Trust Pilot reviews are really good: https://www.facebook.com/servicing/app_65206056824

Currently they are running a -30% winter discount, meaning a full service will cost £96.24.

Thoughts on this. Yey, or nay?

Warranty will be fine providing they are a legit vat registered place and stamp the book and use official parts or of the same standard

Well i've just dropped the Fiesta off for it's 2nd year / 25,000 mile service - with only 9125 miles on the clock. I used my local Ford for the job in the end, peace of mind I guess - booked the service online for £195. The guy who served me persuaded me to set-up a service plan for £16 p/m. He also managed to knock off about £60 on today's service - bonus! ;)

Yes I know that Ford service is a ripoff, but paying a bit off each month is more appealing, that having to fork out a lump sum come the time of service. Also get FREE AA breakdown cover, inc. HomeStart.

So your next service, next year will have cost £192, when it should normally be cheaper than the 2nd service. Yet the 2nd service just cost you £135.

Can't see the point of service plans, just put the money in your bank, not theirs and haggle/shop around at service time.

The AA cover comes with all ford services anyway.

I've always got the option to cancel at anytime ;) (today's service has already been paid for (when the service plan was set-up, plus I saved £60 on todays service!!)

I took out a service plan when I got my first ST, when I decided to cancel it took 4 months to get the money back.

Bummer. I'll more than likely cancel within a few days anyway before they even take the first DD!
