Hi all my CD player keeps skipping when playing a disc cold or warm I have tried a cd lense cleaner but it hasn't worker any help cheers

Sony u it is it? Common problem, I would contact your local car radio shop if you have one, can be fixed costs about £70

Is it worse over rough roads? I have this a bit (the Mk IV, so the later Sony HU), and I also need to comment that the CDs themselves need to be clean, or that does make it worse.

I have cleaned them also noticed it does scratch them

Anything that scratches them is likely to be bad; I'll try to test this later, but you need something non-scratching like cotton wool, and maybe a little isopropyl alcohol. Also, you should do any rubbing along the radius, rather than circumferentially, as scratches that follow the path of the read head (ie, at a constant radius) are likely to be worse.

Use a standard cm lens cleaner. It works for me on a few occasions.
