TomGB
cheers mate ill check out the site, I was actually looking into jl audio and focal but am undecided. PS For 2 Speakers and 1 sub do i need a 4 channel amp? or a 2 channel then a mono. If you're able to answer this that would be great.

Went for the JL C3-650 myself you may like to view my build thread from pafe 50 onwards its all about car audio installation see link: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/41443-taking-oval-to-blue-horizon-lennys-build-thread-2010-2015/page-75Now on page 77. You would need a two channel stereo amp And A single channel mono suggest a JX300/1 Class D mono You can run a single 0AWG cable from battery to boot, then a splitter in to two 4AWG feeding to each amp, Recommend vibe "FlatBass" audio cable for mono amp to sub GingerFlame is a fellow Mk6 owner whom has recently done an audio install aswell may be of interest to view his build too Link: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/63471-mk6-fiesta-flame-14-build-log-was-fiesta-mk6-5-door-custom-sub/

I recommend fitting some DEi Boom speaker baffles to optimise performance regardless of speaker choice too.

I do like bass but not massive amounts and i prefer punchy rather than drowning. Not really a "basshead" either and not sure if a 12" sub would be too much.

Not really a "basshead" either and not sure if a 12" sub would be too much. I went for JX300/1V2 300watt Mono Amp And a 10WOV3 300watt 10" sub See link: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/41443-taking-oval-to-blue-horizon-lennys-build-thread-2010-2015/?p=449270 Then fitted it to a 10" focus custom sub enclosure, I'm not in to over powering bass neither 300w is sufficient in a sealed not ported enclosure, Ported will be louder Sealed will be tighter and shake.
Hassen
Along with Lenny and GingerFlame, I finished my own car audio install a while back. I chose to get a set of Focal 165KR and to my ears, they do sound really good. I have the same sub as Lenny. GingerFlame has a set of Focals as well, the Flax ones and I would love to hear it. The bass from that JL Audio sub, is punchy and not loud, rattle your car type. If you want/need info, check out my thread: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/52338-hassens-ford-focus-16-tdci-build-thread/ Also, Lenny has a wealth of info on the subject as he has researched it extensively. It's very well documented in his thread.

Hassen
The Flax cones are supposed to be the step up from the kevlar ones which I have. I can't wait to hear Lenny's system once completed to get an idea what the JL Audio ones sound like as I have never heard them before. Any chance you can listen to the Flax ones in a shop nearby? I know Focal are not that readily available. I got lucky and got to hear them in a sound shop in Mauritius while on holidays at my parents place. Ended up buying them there after demoing it in the shop.
TomGB
will 6''1/2 Speakers fit in a fiesta 2005 3dr?
Lenny
will 6''1/2 speakers fit in a fiesta 2005 3dr? Best advise i give to people in this regard is;Log on to eBay.co.uk, search for "Mk6 fiesta aftermarket door speaker adaptors" They will appear and say there 6.5" or whatever size they are, You then know what size Speakers you need, But im pretty sure Kieran "GingerFlame" fitted 6.5" components to his front doors,
TomGB
I want to get Speakers with great sound and clarity but I don't listen to music loud. Do you think its worth buying Speakers like this to listen at "comfortable" volumes? http://www.focal.com/en/k2-power/172-165-kr-3544051751322.html

Heres some pictures to compare for yourself:
Lenny
Here is the focal, Spec is on pdf: Focal_165KR-2.htm Focal developed the K2 Power range to allow you to reach the very top levels of acoustic resolution and sound pressure. These high grade Speakers bring superb natural detailed sound with a large open soundstage. Thanks to their oversized voice coils the 165KR's have a high 91dB sensitivity, enabling them to reach distorion free high sound levels. The 165 KR 6.5" component Speakers feature a K2 composite sandwich cone for a neutral, coloration free sound. A butyl rubber surround helps control cone movement and promotes high power handling. The Zamak cast alloy basket provides a rigid, non-resonant housing for accurate, uncolored sound. Focal designed the TNK inverted dome tweeter to disperse high frequencies evenly for a big, open soundstage. The included 2-way crossover with tweeter level control switch, ensures a smooth transition, so vocals and instruments sound natural. 2-way 6.5" component Speakers Composite Sandwich woofer with butyl rubber surround TNK inverted dome tweeter Non-resonant Zamak cast alloy basket Outboard crossover with 3-level tweeter control (-3, 0, +3 dB) Grilles included 80 watts RMS power 160 watts peak Frequency response: 60-20,000 Hz Sensitivity: 91 dB Mounting depth: 71mm (2-13/16")

Power 150w Ill read on for more differencrs that arr non cosmetic Edit: C3's of course are convertable components focals are not meaning you cant fit them in 6.5" without additional mounting of tweeter.
Hassen
The Focal is not as versatile as the JL audio ones. They are also older in design I think. Maybe you could try to demo them to see if they are that different. There are other Focal models that are not as expensive or require that much to power them. Also think of the amplifier needed to power your Speakers as to get the best out of them, a decent one is a must. Do you have a budget in mind, as that will help narrow down your options? Along with that, a bit of Sound Deadening material will bring the mid bass out and stop rattles. E.g Dynamat, Silent Coat, Stp
TomGB
Don't have a budget really, maybe around £500-600 tops at the moment. I'm just looking for Speakers with excellent clarity and detail.
