Having problems with my daughters key fob, it stopped working so have changed the battery but am still unable to use it to unlock the car.

Anyone any ideas how I can rectify this?

Advice welcomed.

Thanks in advance

Have you tried programming with your seat belt fasten? In many instructions it states that you have to be wearing your seat belt, so the seat belt shime doesn't "over chime" your other chimes.

are the batteries in the right way?

The gold contacts on the PCB tarnish and make poor contact with the chrome battery pins.

Make sure the chrome pins are clean and shine at the tips and the gold contacts are not dark

You can possibly clean the gold contacts with an ink rubber or use a fibreglass pencil to gently clean them.

Take the remote to a locksmith so he can test for a signal.

Most of us don't charge for this service.
