mondeo161
Hello All. I have recently bought a Mondeo Titanium X 2011 plate. It has bluetooth and usb but both are not working and I cannot link to my phone. This is the module fitted above the glove box. Also there is a small three hole plug mounted in a blank slot on the left of the glove box. Does anyone know what it could be used for? Thanks in advance for any help. al2052
That is just a holding socket for the passenger airbag inhibit switch option when fitted, its plugged in their when switch is not fitted and is no part of the bluetooth etc. Add: you certainly have the correct bluetooth module, just check the Usb lead is pushed in ok, mine did come out once and lost connection. rethink just noticed both not working
mondeo161
Thanks for your help Alan. Removed and replaced the USB just to make sure it was seated correctly. Could the vehicle software maybe need updating? I only get CD and Aux when selecting on the head unit. Could the connection in the rear of the head unit be the problem? mondeo161
Thanks for your help Alan. I unplugged and re inserted the USB just to make sure it was in properly. Could the connection at the back of the head unit be at fault or maybe the software need updating?
al2052
I would check ETIS to see if USB was supplied as OEM and not upgraded later, if original then reprogramming should not be needed, if upgraded some report reprogramming needed others like myself it was a straight plug and play swap, a clue maybe to look at USB port , does it look like a ford one or a add on, what is your head unit. al2052
I now note on a prevIous topic you say ETIS states you have bluetooth hands free and not Bluetooth/voice with possibly USB it should say, so what is correct information.
mondeo161
Copied this from ETIS. With Rear Parking Aid With Front Parking Aid 80 AH battery Less Auxiliary Compact Disc Player BT/VC Phone Interface + USB Connect With Dual Band Antenna High Level CD+AM/FM+DAB With 9 Radio Speakers I assume this means it has these functions. It was also stated that these functions were on the car on auto trader where I first saw the car for sale.
al2052
From that its obviously factory fitted and thus wouldn't think software a problem so problem could be anyware like broken cable, faulty unit or any number of things, some people recommend disconnecting battery for while to sort out various problems , but make sure of radio code first, otherwise i'm lost. mondeo161
Booked it in to ford for a diagnostic this morning. Maybe they can sort it. If not then what are your thoughts on an android unit?
mondeo161
It seems that the software needed updating. Sent it in to the local Ford Garage today and they updated the software during a diagnostic scan. Did the trick now I can talk on the phone and stream music and also the USB is now working. thanks for the help gents. Oh yes! I asked them to have a look at the difficult Ist gear selection and it seems I need a clutch. After a bit of haggling I got them down from just under £1300 to just over £1000. Its painful I know and I could get it done for around £600 but I'd rather get the satisfaction of knowing hat it has a guarantee if it goes !Removed! up in the near future. Thanks again.
