nicima
I am looking to buy a used car and I am thinking of a Focus. I don't have a ton of money and am looking for a car that will last me two years max. I have found a 06 plate TDCi focus zetec climate for £2000 but the mileage is 143k - it has all service history with it. I think it is high mileage of course but was just wondering what others thought as I do not know a lot about cars as this will only be my third one. I know diesel engines do last longer if looked after etc - which is why the mileage dosent bother me but really i know nothing (s$*t) Any advice, opinions would be great thanks. MONDEO TXS 2.2
You say it has '' all service history with it '' - do you mean a FULL service history ?

MONDEO TXS 2.2
A full service history is vital on any diesel, so that is a good sign, but the the cam belt / chain is way overdue for changing at that mileage - so make absolutely sure that has been done - as when that goes it's bye bye engine
james1089
If you buy the car join the AA, you will have problems that seem impossible to solve, the thing is the faults on these tend to cost nothing to put right, loose wires in the fusebox and maybe an odd thermostat housing that seems like the head gasket has gone. If you go to main agents with these faults they will tell you fuel pump has gone or injectors need doing but like the AA guy said when I just stopped once, the 1.8 tdci don't have any problems he touched a wire on the fusebox and it was fixed. I would certainly buy another one just got to learn the faults.
