I concur, however we've had no DPF issues with the Altea 1.6 TDI since January.

Each weekend we do a lengthy 40 mile motorway round trip that I think gives it a good clean out. Having driven the 1.0 EcoBoost, 1.6 N/A and 1.6 TDCi I much prefer the drive of the diesel car.

I agree, all that flaffing around with a clutch pedal and a gear lever is archaic
