Clutch biting point changes when the clutch is held

Hi guys.

Long time Ford owner but first real problem and i need some advice!

So I bought a 2004 plate Focus Zetec 1.6 and I'm very happy with the usual ford clutch however tonight when stuck in traffic I had my foot on the clutch and after 20-30 seconds the car started to judder a little. As I went to raise the clutch I noticed the biting point was right at the bottom rather than right near the top. So I tested this out a bit more and the biting point position seems to be directly related to the amount of time the clutch is held in

Drives fine and gearbox is smooth, including being able to stick it in 1st gear when the car is still moving relatively quickly.

Im hoping an expert can advise if it's bad news or not!
