bigal83
Where is the icv on my car? I've been told it doesn't have one. The idle is very lumpy at times and it cut out today when I pulled up to to turn right. If it has one I suspect it needs a clean. Thanks guys Just thought... where is the temp. sensor, I have a new one too fit. JW1982
The 1.4/1.6 Duratec including the TI-VCT do not have an idle air control valve. On this type of engine the idle speed is fully controlled by the PCM. When idling the PCM continuously adjust the throttle plate position to obtain the most optimal idle RPM. bigal83
Just bought the car, but it was last serviced November 2015. I've got the oil and filter and it's going in this weekend. As for the plugs I'm not sure. Still looking for the temp. sensor though.
artscot79
depends on the idle speed which will be less than 800rpm standard
v530anh
My idle speed went up to 1000 when I changed my ignition coil, but after 5 mins it goes to 900.
artscot79
dash diagnostics will show a true reading its barely above 800rpm but shows 900 on the display with the to vct plugs and plug gaps perishing leads dirty throttle body vct issues collapsed hoses faulty accelerator sensor faulty gearbox sensor faulty temp sensor and a pcm upgrade required can all cause the issue without scanning live data you can throw money at it forever
