Jonny_lassiter
Hi, so I'm 18, got a 1.4 Mk6 Fiesta. I'm wanting to put the st bumpers, spoiler and 16 inch wheels on it. But I don't know how it would work with insuring it. Seeing as I assume they need to know that it's not original. Has anyone got any experience of insuring a replica/lookalike? And if so, how much cheaper is it than insuring a genuine one?? Cheers!!
Tomson
Essentially you would be insuring your car as if it had a body kit attached to it for cosmetic purposes. That would be the best way to go about it. As they are factory parts used to 'upgrade' the appearance of a car they may give you a discount, I found this out with alloy wheels (aftermarket v factory) back in my Vauxhall years. alexp999
I'd compare the cost of declaring it as body kit + wheels, or front bumper, sideskirts, rear bumper, spoiler and wheels. The latter might be cheaper, both are technically correct.
