Dipped Beam adjustment wheel

I have a knurled knob on the left of the steering wheel, which enables the dip to be adjusted up or down.  I can't find reference to it in the Owner's Handbook.  I cannot for the life of me work out how it does it - anyone know?

It adjusts the headlight aim up or down, if you've got a lot of weight in the back or towing a caravan instead of the headlight aim pointing to the sky you adjust them so they're lower and point to the road, with no load in the back and for m.o.t purpose the adjuster should be set to 0.

Inside each headlight is a small motor with a plastic worm screw.
They change the angle of the bulbs & reflectors inside the housing.

If I'm driving at night behind someone I tend to roll mine down a couple of notches just to be sure I'm not dazzling them.
