Hi all,

i am looking for some advice, I am thinking of buying a Kuga as a new family car but unsure which engine to go for Petrol or diesel, EcoBoost or 2.0L.

i already have a diesel car at the moment but have had lots of problems with the DPF so was wounding is it worth going to Petrol ???

I mainly do round town/ short journeys but we do have family that live in London/ Cornwall so do some longer journeys actually.

Any advice????

Thanks

Evening

My advice would be to go for the ecoboost but one word of warning: watch the fuel economy!!!!!

my friend has a ecoboost 182 awd auto and it is only averaging 26.5mpg. it only has done 3700 miles in 18 months but we thought the fuel economy would be better than it its.

i believe ford have tweaked the kugas engine fuel economy and emissions to co-inside with the new WLTP testing procedure.

If you are doing the miles every year i.e 15k or more than ignore all of this and go for the diesel because you shouldn't have DPF problems and the extra money you pay should cancel itself out.

Kuga with petrol engine is thirsty. Ok if your not doing many miles a year, otherwise go for the 2.0 tdci.

My 2.0TDCI does mid 40's, and on a long trip Essex to Stockport and back, I still had 128 miles range left in the tank...
