I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

No Monday is a new holiday taken from this year's group of holidays 😁 #Fresh

Did you get anywhere with that other job you were going for an interview for, before Xmas?

Nope, it was an open day thing and by the time I turned up (still 1 hour before the official end time) they had gone home!!

Typical!!

I do like buying a bottle of Irish Cream from Lidl on special offer, and having a chicken and bacon pie in the oven for tea.  Wonderful!

Is that the Dundalgan stuff? I got a bottle of that for Christmas.......................lovely :wine:

Could do with finding a Drambuie substitute to mix with it though as a Baileys and Drambuie is rather nice!!!

Indeed it is!!  Very nice, the only problem is that the alcohol is almost unnoticeable, so it goes down a bit too smoothly...  It is the same with eggnog, you think you are fine until you wake up the next morning feeling like death warmed up.  Thankfully I only bought one bottle, which I can easily drink and wake up hangover free.  If I had bought two however, it could have made tomorrow morning rather unpleasant.

Well I know the topic of conversation has drifted off a bit from creating lists, but here's my little list.

- Warm, clear sky day (rarity here in West Wales), can smash out some mileage on the mountain bikes, or even better get some work done on the car!

- Performing magic (when it goes well and my performance just seems to have flow)

- Hobgoblin, Doombar and Black Dragon.

- Driving in the wilds of mid-wales on a warm sunny day, and just stopping to appreciate the gorgeous views.

- That feeling late at night when it's dark, and you pack the car and start a long journey somewhere, knowing the roads are empty and it's just you, your music and a clear road ahead!

- Chips and Cheese

- Musicians: Bonobo, Dreadzone, Massive Attack, Bonobo, Clams Casino, Phaeleh, Bonobo.

- Twin Town! and all the Bourne films.

do like my new job, first proper day at work and did virtually nothing and no one seemed bothered. got myself an office space and laptop to pretend to look busy , sounds like im in charge of myself, and im making decisions what needs doing or not. already got a fellow worker who has been there longer than me assuming im in charge of him. think i need a pay rise already if i am. lol

Sounds good Ian!

Are you no longer a tech then?  Or is it just that January is a slow month lol?

still a tech, but its a new refurb venture and they are having trouble recruiting for the bodyshop so untill those vacancys are filled, we cant start buying in the used commercial vehicles in( mainly transit, connect ,fiesta, but also a few peogeot, renault, vauxhall vans) thought i had got away from vauxhall.!!)

there should be 5 techs, but theres only 2 and neither of us are proper van techs as such. theres just not the people out there. they started advertising at beginning of oct.

so my job next week is to source all the extra tooling out that we should need . all we have are ramps and a oil drainer so far. could be a long list.

I do like my choice of tipple this evening...  It has been a long time since I had a decent port, and with being off work tomorrow (first time in 5 days straight), I can relax and not worry about getting up at 6AM.  Fantastic!!

On the Morgan Spiced Rum myself and thinking of a cheeky one at the local watering hole in a bit!!

Had a couple of pints of McEwan's 80/- and a glass of Prosecco! Breaking Bad time now so might partake in more 80/- shortly!

I've cracked open another bottle of the Irish Cream that I had yesterday, so tomorrow morning could be getting off to a rather slow start...

You do know you're only meant to drink it by the glass NOT the bottle?  :wine:

Oh! Mrs T just came through with a couple of sneaky vodka and oranges!

There seems to be national shortage of commercial vehicle techs at the moment.

Where my mate works, they've taken to using Australian techs on 2 year contracts. Under that Foreign Office scheme that where under the 40's Ozzies and Brits can work in each others countries for 2 years, without needing a separate work permit.

Not just commercial, car techs, pdi techs. What teenager wants to get there hand dirty and be expected to be clever on the PC/electronics front for little reward compared to other trades

I do like paying 4p less for petrol at Tesco today

Also: finally filled up my screenwash using normal station screenwash. Nothing fancy also got an ice scrapper for free

I do like a nice Sunday drive in the MK1 Focus and then getting home to enjoy a few beers whilst waiting for my Hunter's Chicken to cook in the oven.

I do like Brandy's sprain is recovering, she didn't really need the folded towel supporting her rear end on today's multiple short walks; she could keep herself up without falling over:smile:

Both petrol and diesel have gone opposite way round here, both up by 4p litre since last week, to 109.9p and 113.9p respectively
