It's brand new so hopefully it won't break down, but already had engine light on with egr fault a few days ago . Cleared the codes and crossed our fingers. Lol.  taking our diagnostics with us incase it goes into limp mode. Out of 40 plus vehicles going there's 2 transit tourneos and the rest new focus. One team trying to get to Lithuania!!! 2 have been banned from going to Ukraine due to the problems there. 

I actually like it apart from the lower half of the front bumper lol...  Is the GT spec just the bodykit or does it have a better engine as well?  You could take a slight detour via the Nürburgring to see if you can beat Guy Martins Transit time around there!  

Are you allowed to use sat navs to avoid traffic?  Looks like there's plenty of roadworks through the Europe section! 😮 

 

One of my mates works at an Audi main dealer.  Four of them did a charity race across Europe in a 20 year old A6 earlier this year...  They made it with no major issues so a new Transit should be fine!  Good luck!

 

170hp engine so fairly standard, we started at 11am and currently passing Reims. We using sync 3 satnav , so we we may be rerouted via the Mediterranean. Lol

Thanks, we are in Italy now, got lost before Milan, the main road/ motorway was closed at a tunnel. Lost 15mins there but we now heading to Bologna. Foggy and stinks in Italy. We 90 mins ahead of time so may go further than Naples.

I've just had a Climote central heating control unit fitted, has a built in SIM card which I can control the heating through across the internet using the app on my phone, or in the home via Alexa 

The screen automatically sleeps to save energy 

The gloss white polycarbonate finish also matches nicely with my Schneider electric Clipsal sockets and switches 

Wireless thermostat which I've positioned beside an elephant ornament in the living room to represent the mammoth savings which we will encounter moving forward😉

Extra bonus there made in The area of Ireland which I grew up in as a child which provides an extra little warm feeling of home many miles away in my own home.

I do like getting a bit of a bargain this morning...  Cadbury are giving away pre-packaged, pre-postaged chocolate at Tesco Extra stores today only.  You have to spend £5 on Cadbury chocolate first BUT I would've bought it as gifts anyway and already had a £2 off of £8 voucher... Ended up with RRP £14 of chocolate & postage for just £6.  I don't even like chocolate but it makes for good xmas gifts. 😉

I'm back!!!  1386miles in 25 hrs! Got to Amalfi coast,  maiori . Was warm enough to go swimming in the sea. 

As for the Italians having reputation of insane driving . They hold up that repution well indeed. Absolute nutters on a death wish in there cars.

Thanks, I wanted to stay overnight at least ,but the others just wanted to turn around and come home

Had fun trying to get back to the UK yesterday at Calais. 

First of all we decided to come back on the ferry at Calais so I booked that while we drove through southern France , then read the marine weather forecast, gales to severe gales! Err no, I cancelled that ferry crossing and booked the Eurotunnel . Got closer to Eurotunnel and heard via others on this charity run ,said the protesters had blocked the road to euro tunnel and ferry . Had turned violent throwing bricks at cars. Our company rang to say under no circumstances try tunnel or Calais ferry and try Dunkirk ferry. 

So had to pay again for ferry there. 

Was a rough sailing back

Wasn't that protest for the government trying to increase the tax on fuel? If only us lot in England could be like that. 

That was the start of it , but has turned into protesting about the cost of living in general amongst other things. 

Had fun in a transit navigating our way through the coastal and mountain roads built wide enough only for  small cars to pass each other

We spent £1300 to get there and back in fuel, toll roads,  ferry and Eurotunnel. Were given an allowance of £400 for costs , anything extra was our problem. Obviously we didn't plan that trip with the cost implications. Lol

I do like sorting this out, I've edit the original post to appear as though it was never installed this way.

Was really bugging me to see the big fuse plate on the wall because there's already a fuse fitted to this supply inside the boiler,

The cables come from the fuse in to the house from the boiler then back to the boiler from the house, 

No need for that fuse plate to be fitted and it's not required since it's fused coming in to the house, 

So I switched off the power and reinstalled it myself thankfully the tiles behind were fine despite the installer chipping away at one,

Installed now as it should be done in accordance with the manufacturer, designed to be a straight swap out of the existing time clock switch, not an additional fuse on a supply that's already fused from the boiler. 

Feeling much better now, equivalent to eating five Snickers bars so calm ☺

I do like finding out that what I thought was an annoying niggle/fault on the Golf & various VAG cars is an actual feature...   If any of you have owned mid 00's onwards VAG cars you'll probably have noticed a wiper twitch occasionally when shutting the engine off.  Turns out this is to seat the wiper blade in the opposite direction so that it doesn't get deformed and damaged by always siting one way.  Can't believe I'd not heard of that before!
